‘Rocking Chair’ by Gemma Elizabeth Holz
Being a lady, and being rather fond of sparkly things, you would think I’d be more inclined towards baubles and trinkets. But I rarely wear any; still I would never pass up an occasion to drink random pink drinks with apple chips in them and get a goody bag with Fake Bake in it. And I as I said, I do love sparkly things. And I’m Asian, but I may want to use fake tan. You can never be too orange.
I went on the Friday having missed the majority of the industry events (I’m a busy girl) to check out the designers at the Treasure event at Victoria House in Bloomsbury. I had attended the evening before but had to leave due to an overbearing crush of sweaty fashion people, the concept of personal hygiene obviously leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully Friday was BO free, and pleasantly airy, and I attended with a photographer friend of mine.
‘Treasure’ is a contemporary jewellery showcase for press, trade and public for established and new designers to showcase and hawk their wares, and my personal favourite, the Swarovski Runway Rocks installation and Atelier Swarovski pop-up shop.

Collado Garcia for Swarovski Runway Rocks.

Christopher Kane for Swarovski Runway Rocks.

Top to bottom: Christopher Kane (for your own Cave of Wonders it seems); Matthew Williamson; and Jason Wu all for Atelier Swarovski SS10.
It’s a pity my favourite piece, the crazy ‘A Beautiful Life’ by Manish Arora wasn’t there. Crystallised organs are my cup of tea.

I would look so awesome in this with my neon green creps.
Amongst the glitter and glitz – these were my personal favourites.
Italian born Pepe known already for her fantastic debut RTW collection is fusing her jewellery to become an integral part of her clothing continuing with her Jewellery Wear concept. Her next collection ‘In The Woods’ for AW2010-11 using shearling fur, crosses, scars and eroticism to name just a few components. Having worked with Maria’s pieces before, I’m glad to have finally met her, incredible how someone can be so scarily talented and extremely lovely.

Take a bite of my bad girl meat.
Plastic jewellery is usually not my bent, but Tina’s inspirations listed as Pop Art, porn and anything plastic won me over, if not just for the alliteration. Dead cute jewellery and with a lot of press noise surrounding her, its not hard to see why.
Plastic Fantastic, but not like a ex Page 3 girl.
I honed in on ex-biochemist Davis’ jewellery as it caught my eye with the ‘Dendritic’ collection – which are based on dendritic cells which are present in the immune system, which form branched projections. It appealed to me greatly since all I ever do is bang on about science and style. Alexander Davis was additionally an UK Young Jewellery Finalist in 2009.
Honourable mentions must also go to these talented designers:
L-R: 24 Hours Necklace – The ’24 Hours’ necklace is so named after the time period it took to weave the necklace, by Keren Cornelius ; Big Big Bling Necklace Light, by Penelope Batley ; ‘Rocking Horse’, by Gemma Elizabeth Holz ; Etched peacock brooch, by Charlotte Lowe ; and Crystal textile necklace, by Elinor Voytal
