My sister has better pictures on her Torch, but she’s on holiday at the moment, but it’s mostly the back of my fat head gawping at a huge telly.
The technologic debut I’ve been waiting for a while is finally nigh! The Blackberry Playbook is being released on June 16th. And I was lucky enough to go along to the launch of “Made For Playbook” – an exclusive collection of cases and accessories for the Playbook prior to its launch. What I wasn’t aware of when I arrived at Midori House is that it wasn’t just the accessories that were on show, but there were ACTUAL PLAYBOOKS TOO. Then I saw them and that just made my day. I was all clammy, tired and hauling huge bags of samples for my shoot that weekend. I got my second wind and spent all my time glued to the Playbook. So much so, that everyone thought I worked for Blackberry and I was doing demonstrations. I then in my own ‘suave’ fashion (read:obvious) directed the Playbook to my site and portfolio and indulged in some shameless self promotion, since the Playbook I picked up was plugged into the TV (HDMI output and how!).
Suffice to say, I am a tad contrite that I failed to actually go look at the cases. What can I say? I saw the Playbook and I was gone. So gone, I didn’t even notice my sister who I took along with me had disappeared for the best part of ten minutes. But as always, I did attend to the press pack and thought: “Doggone it! I could have breathed in that scent of calfskin leather!” However my aforementioned sibling saw them and pointed out her favourite ones. I too agree with her choices. And some of my own.
The Lipstick Red Ettinger

Since hitting my 20s, I’ve become a greater fan of all items red. Before I termed it as a colour for hussies (isn’t my FRANKness refreshing?) but since I spotted the perfect red Harrington by Fred Perry and purchasing my first ever red lipstick (and my favourite), red has become one of my go to colours when I want to perk up. It matches perfectly with two of my favourite items in my make up bag. And it does complement up my rolled-out-of-bed navy ensembles very well…

And god, do I love English craftmanship. It even has a space for my pesky wandering notebook and resembles a rather classy clutch. It also comes in cream, if red doesn’t tickle your fancy. But as an additional bonus, the red also matches my morning commute (on the Central line, knobviously)
The Pretty Blue Brooklyn
After my favourite colour green, blue is my go-to colour. This case also has space for my business cards (it’s bone) – if I had any, as well as contrast stitching which I just love because it makes me look more stylish than I actually am.
Normally I never match anything. Not because I’m trying to be rebellious but because I don’t have a wardrobe and I’m always in a rush. So I pick whatever’s clean and chuck it on. But I’d definitely match this case with these LD Tuttle blue cut out boots. I borrowed them for a shoot and I kinda don’t want to give them back. I will give them back because I don’t have £300 to spare, and also because of my long ski-like feet, they don’t actually fit me. Sad sad times. If you’re more of a vibrant shades kind of gal/guy - the case also comes in a rather fetching hue of burnt orange.

Yes that is my nephew’s zebra in the background.
The Cheery Yellow Valextra

I didn’t clock on envelope clutches were in fashion until at press days people started gushing over mine. It’s not even a clutch. It’s a leather envelope for documents. It was a nice gift from Italian stationary company, Campo Marzio and I use it to carry around documents. But what can I say – once again I’m accidentally in vogue! (Not actually “Vogue” the magazine)
Nothing is as visually arresting and stimulating as a bright colour on the senses. That’s why I paint my nails in bright colours when the weather is bad (so about 70% of the time). Looking at my Barbie pink digits always cheers me up. And my playlist on my iPod of delightfully energetic and sometimes trashy tunes to put a spring in my step. Which is handy because this little stunner also has a handy earphone hole, which is useful for me as I’m always getting tangled up with my scarf, bag, coat, and the wind blows them out my ears (I have ridiculously small ears). But also a rather long neck, and I am fond of scarves, however much I get tangled up in them.

Ah Hermès Brides de Gala en Finesse. So pretty. So expensive. So will never be mine.
Also even if you aren’t interested in tablets in the slightest and have no idea what I’m wittering on about, you still need to watch the Blackberry Playbook: Power ad just to hear the incredible remix of The Temptations Power by Soundtree’s Oliver Julian, Luis Almau and Peter Raeburn.
Pity there’s only 30 seconds of it. It needs to be released. *cough* RIM *cough* sort it out.
