If I Were a Handsome Man #MTVPlayground

Finding clothes to wear on a regular basis is hard enough, let alone for events and occasions. I still haven’t finalised my outfit for the MTV EMAs - I am a naughty stylist.

I do tend to have a daily uniform of jeans, Docs, and man sweaters, shirts or blouses – I find it easy, comfortable and most of all WARM. I spend a lot of my time running around, so I can’t wear heels (or won’t wear heels). The amount of heels I’ve damaged on London cobbles makes me weep. If only I were a handsome man, like Steve McQueen or Jon Hamm. I’d probably spend all day staring at my reflection, but I could also wear suits everyday. I do like the cut of a nice suit, and they’re easily one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you can own. So many fabrics! So many styles! I bore everyone with my exclamations over hidden stitching and medium notched lapels. HA.

Belfast will also be freezing, so I will more likely than not add tights to my outfit, even though I still have my Texan tan. If I was in possession of a Y chromosome, I’d wear the DB Patrick Suit by Albam. The first Made in England suit from Albam, it’s 100% English wool (super warm), weaved with cashmere (even warmer), comes in charcoal (can be dressed up or down) and with a unstructured double breasted blazer, the suit cut for 2012. And it’s less than £500. With the extra money I’d save on buying it, I’d get a tailor to add a couple of darts in the back of the blazer to give it the Kent cut and purchase a nice pocket square for the finishing touch.

The DB Made in England Patrick suit from Albam is £480 and available from Albam stores and www.albamclothing.com. Thanks to Fashionising for the men’s suit trends for 2011-2012.
