Didn’t get the shoes in, they were fierce, to use Tyra’s vernacular.
Another designer I haven’t heard of, but my good friend Tina Gao invited me along to this presentation in NY’s Meatpacking District.
The models were idly posing on velvet banquettes, tables, and posing on sofas while rather fabulous people (and I) milled around. They looked a little bored, but I guess being a mannequin isn’t that thrilling.

Carlos Miele is a designer I haven’t heard of, mainly because he’s known in the US and not over in Europe. Hailing from Brazil, this season’s show was inspired by Pink Floyd’s eponymous track, “Another Brick in the Wall” – which Brazilian born, New York based singer Bebel Gilberto performed a very blissful, chilled out version of this classic.

So I’m crazy jetlagged. For those who don’t follow me on Twitter, an apparent tornado passed through New York City through to Jersey and Suffolk and Nassau counties, causing my flight to be delayed for 3 hours. On the flight, the pilot advised us to keep our seatbelts on the entire way to keep us safe. Look mate, I’ve seen Lost and I know that seatbelts will not do shit.
Ergo, I missed most of the shows on Friday. And also today (Sunday). But I have been to some pretty good stuff on Saturday, and this evening, and have some exciting stuff coming up. So hold tight.
The finale of Carlos Miele’s NYFW SS11 show at the Main Stage at Lincoln Center, Monday 13th September at 11am.
Mr and Miss Jay being fabulous at G*Star Raw at NYFW on Tues 14th Sept. Oh and Matthew Settle (the dad from Gossip Girl) on Mr Jay’s right.
